The short answer. Prosenjit Chatterjee (প্রসেনজিৎ চট্টোপাধ্যায়) has been married three times. His wife now is the actress Arpita Pal (অর্পিতা পাল), whom he married in 2002. Wikipedia says he lives in Kolkata with her and their son.

Chapter 1: Debashree Roy (দেবশ্রী রায়), 1992 or 1994 to 1995

The two had known each other since childhood, as Prosenjit has said. The marriage was short. Wikipedia and its infobox give 1994 to 1995; IMDb and BanglaBharati give 1992. Everyone gives 1995 for the separation.

Both have described it. Wikipedia, citing Telegraph interviews, says Prosenjit said Debashree proposed the marriage and also decided on the separation, while Debashree said he was insecure about her success. Industry insiders claimed he wanted her to give up acting and have children, and that she refused; that is hearsay and we mark it unverified. Prosenjit returned to the subject in an interview reported by WION on 9 June 2025: he said they blamed each other but were young, that he then fell into depression, worked less and struggled to recover, and that he signed nine films once he came back. Status: confirmed by both as a marriage; the reasons are their own accounts.

Chapter 2: Aparna Guha Thakurta (অপর্ণা গুহঠাকুরতা), 1997 to the early 2000s

He married Aparna Guha Thakurta in 1997 and they have a daughter. Wikipedia’s infobox gives the divorce as 2000, BanglaBharati as 2002, and other sources as 2003, so we do not give one year. Anandabazar covered the marriage and the split. We found no statement from Aparna. Status: public record.

The Rituparna Sengupta (ঋতুপর্ণা সেনগুপ্ত) rumours

Prosenjit and Rituparna Sengupta were screen partners in a long run of hit films, and rumours have followed them for years. A Bollywood Shaadis article carries a headline linking her to his failed marriages. We found no statement from either of them confirming a relationship. On 16 October 2025 Lehren reported an interview in which he addressed a long-rumoured fallout between them, saying that age had brought him clarity and forgiveness and that he no longer holds grudges. Their film Prosenjit Weds Rituparna (2022) played on the buzz. Status: rumour; no relationship confirmed, a rift acknowledged in general terms.

Chapter 3: Arpita Pal (অর্পিতা পাল), 2002 to now

He married the actress Arpita Pal in 2002 and they have a son. Every source we read gives 2002. Status: public record.
