Checked on 28 October 2026. “National multiplex” figures come from the trade page TollyBangla Box-Office, which counts PVR, INOX, Cinepolis and Miraj screens. We could not verify them independently. Our own checks are marked below.

The short version. Three Eken Babu films, three multiplex totals: ₹1.79 Cr (2023), ₹3.24 Cr (2025) and ₹2.77 Cr in week one of 2026. The growth claim is arithmetically correct. The only open question is the source, not the sums.

The figures

Film National multiplex (TollyBangla) Sacnilk India net, all screens
The Eken: Ruddhaswas Rajasthan (2023) ₹1.79 Cr ₹2.97 Cr after 28 days
The Eken: Benaras e Bibhishika (2025) ₹3.24 Cr (seventh week) ₹7.45 Cr after 56 days
The Eken: Kerala-e-Kurukshetra (2026) ₹2.77 Cr (first week) ₹5.68 Cr first week; ₹7.51 Cr after 13 days

Checking the claim

  • 2023 to 2025: from ₹1.79 Cr to ₹3.24 Cr is an increase of ₹1.45 Cr, or 81.0 per cent. Correct.
  • 2026 against 2025: ₹2.77 Cr is 85.5 per cent of the 2025 total of ₹3.24 Cr. Correct.
  • Caution: the 2026 figure covers one week and the 2025 figure covers seven weeks, so the two are not like for like. The 2026 film’s final multiplex total will be higher than ₹2.77 Cr, but we cannot say by how much.
  • “Over ₹6 Cr now?” We found no multiplex figure after week one. Sacnilk’s India net across all screens is ₹7.51 Cr after 13 days, but that counts every theatre, not just multiplex chains, so it cannot be compared. A multiplex total above ₹6 Cr is not supported by anything we found.

Is the multiplex figure plausible?

Multiplex chains are a part of the Bengali box office, not all of it, so a multiplex number should always be below the all-screen net. Against Sacnilk, the Eken figures give a multiplex share of about 60 per cent (2023), 43 per cent (2025) and 49 per cent of the first week (2026). Other 2026 films fall in a similar range (below), so nothing looks out of line. One flag: Dhumketu (2025) is listed at the same ₹2.77 Cr as Kerala-e-Kurukshetra’s first week. Same-number coincidences happen, but it is worth asking TollyBangla to recheck.

2026 national multiplex collections (TollyBangla)

Film Multiplex Sacnilk net Share
Saptadingar Guptodhon ₹3.82 Cr ₹10.42 Cr 37%

Bohurupi: The Golden Daku (week 1) ₹2.19 Cr ₹5.61 Cr 39%
Aajo Ardhangini ₹1.72 Cr ₹4.40 Cr 39%

DeSu7 (week 1) ₹1.23 Cr ₹4.67 Cr 26%
Vijaynagarer Hirey ₹1.15 Cr ₹2.99 Cr 38%
Keu Bole Biplobi Keu Bole Dakat ₹0.99 Cr ₹3.35 Cr 30%
Emperor vs Sarat Chandra (week 1) ₹0.61 Cr ₹1.14 Cr 54%

Share is our calculation: the multiplex figure divided by the Sacnilk India net for the same period (first week or total), using the latest totals shown on the film pages (24 to 28 October 2026). Some of the multiplex figures are marked “approximate” at the source. TollyBangla’s own list is not in strict order: DeSu7’s ₹1.23 Cr is placed above Phool Pishi O Edward’s ₹1.38 Cr.

Earlier years (TollyBangla)

  • Bohurupi (2024): ₹5.60 Cr at multiplexes, against ₹14.16 Cr India net on Sacnilk, about 40 per cent.
  • Dhumketu (2025): ₹2.77 Cr, against ₹8.69 Cr on Sacnilk, about 32 per cent.
  • Also reported: Karnasubarner Guptodhon (2022) ₹4.57 Cr, Prajapati (2022) ₹4.19 Cr, Dashom Avatar (2023) ₹2.94 Cr, Khadaan (2024) ₹2.83 Cr and Raktabeej (2023) ₹2.15 Cr. We have not checked these.

For 2025, TollyBangla ranks The Eken: Benaras e Bibhishika first among Bengali films at national multiplexes (₹3.24 Cr), ahead of Dhumketu (₹2.77 Cr), Prajapati 2 (₹2.23 Cr, approx.) and Raghu Dakat (₹2.19 Cr, approx.). All other 2025 films were below ₹30 lakh, it says.

What this does and does not show

  • It shows the series’ multiplex total rising from 2023 to 2025, and a first week in 2026 that is already 85.5 per cent of the 2025 total, by TollyBangla’s count.
  • It does not show profit. No budget has been published for any of the three films, so we make no hit or flop call.
  • Multiplex collection is one slice. For all-screen figures see the Kerala-e-Kurukshetra box office page and the Puja 2026 week-one comparison.
