Anuj Kumar · The Hindu · 15 Jul 2022
“The picture begins with charming youthful energy but ultimately becomes a heavy and predictable sports drama that repeats familiar tropes without offering much emotional novelty.”

The critic gave no star rating, so BMR estimated one from the words of the review. The critic praises the strong performances of the young actors and the emotional investment of the early scenes. However, they heavily criticize the second half as a formulaic, heavy-handed, and repetitive sports biopic that lacks novelty. This balance of genuine early merits and a later laboured execution points to a mixed, leaning positive verdict. How estimates work

Suchin Mehrotra · Hindustan Times · 15 Jul 2022
“The sports film benefits from intimate character moments and a sincere lead performance, but ultimately suffers from an overlong narrative and a clunky, predictable second half.”

The critic gave no star rating, so BMR estimated one from the words of the review. The film is praised for its sincere origin story, fine performances, and emotional moments of athlete recognition, but criticized as a loud, unsubtle biopic that devolves into a clunky, bland, and lazy highlights reel. These mixed elements of effective emotional beats paired with heavy-handed packaging and a weak second half land the review squarely on a mixed, leaning positive verdict. How estimates work
