Live updates

  • 14 Oct 2026 The Eken got BookMyShow's Trending tag: 7.03K tickets booked in 24 hours, 15.5K+ interested. Midnight shows (after 11.30 pm) are being set up for The Eken and Bohurupi at PIC and Miraj centres from Thursday. Eken still leads advance bookings.
  • 13 Oct 2026 Published with the first booking read for Thursday 15 October.

Booking trends for Thursday 15 October are only a few hours old, so read this as a snapshot of early demand and not as a verdict. Three Bengali films open together: The Eken: Kerala-e-Kurukshetra, Bohurupi: The Golden Daku and Emperor vs Sarat Chandra. DeSu7 follows a day later, on Friday 16 October.

The Eken is in front

The Eken leads on ticket sales and also holds a narrow lead on show count. A known detective character is an easy sell: audiences already know what an Eken Babu film promises. Franchise films have also produced the biggest openings of this year so far, as the Top 5 Day 1 openers of 2026 chart shows.

Bohurupi and Emperor look close, but the shows are not equal

In the first hours of booking, Bohurupi: The Golden Daku and Emperor vs Sarat Chandra showed almost the same occupancy. The detail that matters is the number of shows. Emperor has less than half as many shows as Bohurupi, so a similar occupancy on far fewer shows adds up to fewer tickets sold. If Emperor gains screens on Thursday, that gap can narrow.

Where the bookings are coming from

Early bookings lean towards the multiplex chains (PVR, INOX and Cinepolis, often grouped as PIC), with SVF-linked venues contributing only a limited share so far. Single screens, which matter a great deal for Bengali films outside the multiplex belt, had not opened bookings at the time of the read. That means these early numbers probably understate the final opening, and the order can change once those screens open.

What to watch next

  • Whether single screens open bookings, and for which films
  • Changes to show counts on Thursday morning
  • The first real Day 1 figures on Friday, which will replace the booking read
  • DeSu7 joining the race on Friday 16 October

The films, live

These cards update on their own as the films release, with Day 1 and net collection added as soon as they are reported.

Booking trends come from early tracking by trade watchers and we have not verified occupancy ourselves. Sacnilk and other trackers publish their own numbers, and they often differ. See our box office tracker for collections once the films open.
